In La Liga, Barcelona started six U-23s in their clash with bottom placed Huesca: Riqui Puig, Jean-Clair Todibo, Moussa Wagué, Carles Aleñá, Ousmane Dembélé and Malcom.

In other parts of Europe, another Englishman made his way into the Bundesliga with a debut in the German top flight. Eighteen-year-old Arsenal loanee Emile Smith Rowe came on at right back in Leipzig’s 2-0 win over Wolfsburg.

In Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 win against Mainz, 19-year-old Jadon Sancho scored both goals, making him the only U-23 player across Europe’s top five leagues to score and assist in double figures this season.

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Sancho’s England teammate Reiss Nelson scored for Hoffenheim making it his 7th league goal of the season with 5 starts.

In the Primeria Liga in Portugal, 19-year-old forward Joao Felix continued his starring form, scoring for SL Benfica and providing two assists. The Portugese prodigy now has four goals and three assists in his last two games.

In the Serie A, Juventus’ young gun Moise Kean stepped up once again finding the back of the net against SPAL. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Old Lady, who went down 2-1 away from home. Kean has scored in every one of his six starts for Juventus and Italy this season.

In the English Premier League, 16-year-old Harvey Elliott was a substitute for Fulham.

In the Championship, 20-year-old Mason Mount scored his first hat-trick in English football for Derby County against Bolton Wanderers.
