Western Sydney Wanderers striker Oriol Riera says he wants to win his “last derby” when the Wanderers meet Sydney FC on Saturday.

Riera – whose contract ends in June – told FNR he is yet to decide as to whether he will remain in the A-League next season.

The 32-year-old says he is not waiting for an offer from the Wanderers but will wait until the end of the season before making a decision.

“I want to score but above all I want to win the derby after three years, I want to win my last derby,” he said.

“My contract finishes at the end of the season and to make a decision the club has to give me an option.

“It’s part of the business of football, I can’t make any decisions unless I have an offer.

“I’m not waiting, in football you can’t expect anything, I’m not 20 and sometimes if you don’t receive an offer it’s because the club doesn’t want you or is looking for another option, that’s just part of the business.

“You have to move and go, I had offers from Spain in January and maybe they think I will move I’m not sure.”

The La Masia youth product is Western Sydney’s leading goal scorer in the Sydney derby – having scored three goals against Sydney FC.

Despite a poor record against their cross-town rivals, Riera believes the Wanderers are a different side to when the two teams last played

“The fans won’t see the same game they saw last time,” he said.

“In the last few games we’ve played well and getting points – we’re a totally different team.

“This season was very tough for the club and everyone involved, it wasn’t the season we expected.”
